Policies

Safety

Safety is my top priority. Rude or sexual comments, however subtle, will never be tolerated. I exercise my right to end a session at any point if I feel unsafe. There are never any refunds given if an appointment ends for these reasons.

Your safety and comfort are also my top priority. You have the right to pause, ask for a different pressure, or end the massage at any time if you are feeling uncomfortable. Deeper work can elicit emotional responses and bring up strong sensations in the body. This is common and can be overwhelming. Sometimes, a pause is needed before we continue.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved for you and you alone. I ask that you reschedule or cancel 24 hours or more before your appointment time. Failure to adhere to the 24-hour cancellation policy for any reason, is a full charge for the appointment time booked. I understand that our bodies get sick. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are experiencing symptoms of feeling unwell. That being said, DO NOT come in if you are feeling sick. Massage is so effective at creating circulation in the body that it will make things much worse for you.

Communication

I value communication throughout the work that we do together. We will have a brief intake about your goals, concerns, pressure, health history, etc prior to the time on the table. During the manual body work portion, I will check in about pressure, comfort, and effectiveness of the treatments. It is your responsibility to advocate for yourself about what you need and if you are comfortable with the treatment throughout the appointment. Please, always speak up.

Booking

Please arrive no earlier than five minutes before your appointment start time. Turnover time is short between clients and there is no lobby waiting area. Please remain outside the building until that time. I encourage you to arrive five minutes early so that we have time for a brief intake about your goals for the day. If you are late, it is likely that I will not be able to accommodate extending your appointment time. There will be no discounts given for shorter appointments due to lateness.

For new clients, please book through the website. Follow up appointments may be made in-office at the end of your appointment. If you are an existing client and you’d like to be added to the waitlist for a particular day, text is a great way to get a hold of me. A waitlist option through the website will be added in the coming months.

Insurance Clients

I am in network with Regence/ Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Providence Health Plan. I do not bill out of network and do not accept other plans at this time. If you have health care coverage from any of these companies, this does not automatically mean that you have massage therapy benefits. Please inquire directly with your insurance company about the exact details of your coverage.

Some plans require a prescription for massage. You can acquire this by visiting your primary care physician (MD) or Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (DC.)

Your personal health information will be collected from the forms that are emailed to you after booking. All of the information that you provide will be kept confidential unless required by law. Your medical information may be shared by the various care providers involved in your care and treatment. Please allow three business days for me to inquire about the details of your coverage.

Payment

Treatments may be covered by health care plans. It is your responsibility to confirm the exact details of your coverage. If the insurance does not cover the service, you have two weeks to contact your insurance and resolve the issue of non-payment. If they will not cover treatments, you will assume all expenses incurred. Please inquire about affordable payment plans. Every new insurance client pays in full for their first appointment only. It takes three to four weeks for insurance claims to process. If your insurance covers the appointment, you have two options: a reimbursement check in the mail minus any copays/ coinsurance OR add the remaining balance to your account to use toward future copays if you choose to continue working with me.

Motor Vehicle Accident Medical Massage

I’m sorry that you have been in a collision. I am here to help get you back to whole. A doctor’s note is needed in order for payment to be covered by your motor vehicle insurance company. Please see a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (DC) or Medical Doctor (MD) prior to booking with me. Email or call with questions regarding appointments, concerns, or coverage.
